The Gulf Stream is a system of currents that brings warm and salty water from the Caribbean Sea north along the east coast of North America before it veers east into the North Atlantic. Remote Sensing is an ideal way to study the Gulf Stream because of the ability to get accurate temperature readings from satellite sensors over the large area covered by the current. Understanding the Gulf Stream is important for many applications and industries. This site will focus on the impact of the Gulf Stream on Fisheries.
